Camp Counselor

     Preferred Age: 18+

Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values

Oversee a cabin group for duration of camp session

Reside in cabin with program participants

Ensure the emotional, mental, and physical safety of all participants

Complete required paperwork in timely manner

Work in tandem with other Camp Counselors and camp staff to create a safe and welcoming experience for all

Ensure cleanliness of cabins, units, and program areas

Effectively manage camper behavior and homesickness

Inform leadership staff of any camper concerns

Ability to accept guidance and supervision

Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills

Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of YMCA Camp Piomingo

Other duties as assigned

SHIFT: Sunday – Friday, daily hourly breaks, housing and meals provided 

STARTING SALARY:  $400+/week (DOE)

STATUS: Part-time; Non-exempt, Seasonal
