The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Health and Well-Being Program Director to join our team!
The Health and Well-Being Program Director works with the Senior Health and Well-Being Director in creating a positive and inspiring Health & Well Being programs. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our members. Additionally, you will lend a helping hand with Health and Well-Being programs as needed, ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.
Wage: $21.47 to $23.47 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Location: Mel Korum Family YMCA, Puyallup, WA
-Bachelor’s degree and/or two years of related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development (preferred).
-Knowledge of current health and well-being safety and program standards, the latest trends in the industry, and the ability to articulate and incorporate them.
-Knowledge of and experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
-Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinion, and perceptions.
-You value and promote diversity and contribute to an inclusive working and learning environment.
-YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid, and Oxygen certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
-Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
-Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
-Design, implement, and evaluate programs, activities, and events.
-Create and schedule health and well-being classes and activities.
-Establish new program activities and expand programs to meet the needs of the community in accordance with the -Association’s strategic and operating plans.
-Coordinate the use of facilities and needed equipment for program activities and events.
-Instruct classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all cultures, skills, and fitness levels
-Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and lead staff and volunteers as needed.
-Work in collaboration with senior management to review and evaluate staff performance.
-Support development and implementation of program-specific volunteer training program.
-Schedule shifts, arrange shift coverage, process time off request requests, review, approve, and submit time cards.
-Track, record and report volunteer time appropriately.
-Ensure that all mandatory training is scheduled and funded.
-Ensure records of staff certifications are current and complete.
