Volleyball Instructor will perform sports activities and supervise children of various ages.

  • Duties: Under the direction of the Sports & Fitness Director, will perform Sports activities and supervise children of various ages. Identify participant's physical education needs and recommend a plan for programs to be offered. Implement all components of programs offered, including coordination of registration and program supplies, and plan our daily training/teaching schedule. Be accessible to program participants as necessary to instruct youth sports classes, stay in touch with program participants, interact with other site staff/other Y staff, and be responsible for the success of sports programs, including special events as needed/requested by the Supervisor/Director.
  • Hours: Part-Time/Non-Exempt.
  • Wage: $16.00per hour

Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug/alcohol testing, health screening, and TB test. One year or more experience working/coaching with youth (large groups) in an organized (particularly volleyball) setting and of various cultures. Handle multiple responsibilities and overlapping deadlines to best meet YMCA objectives. Be CPR/First Aid Certified within the first 30 days of employment and keep current for condition of continued employment in this position. Ability to have transportation to all assigned work sites when scheduled to work. If designated as a YMCA Business Driver, the employee must possess a valid/current CA Driver’s License or other valid state driver’s license and must provide to the Y proof of minimum CA vehicle insurance coverage upon request & must also maintain an approved/acceptable driving record. An annual MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) will be conducted by the Y. Employees who are YMCA Business Drivers who do not maintain an acceptable driving record may be prohibited from being a Business Driver which could affect employment status.
