ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

World Service Grant Management, Stewardship, and Communication

YMCA of the USA's World Service Campaign raises critical resources to strengthen the capacity of Ys to reach more children, teens and young adults with access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive, such as quality health services, education and employment. World Service support empowers these Ys to fill the gaps and help youth develop into the next generation of leaders who will transform their communities for the better. The intern will have an opportunity to support grant management, donor stewardship, and communications.

•Support tracking of grant management deliverables (reporting deadlines, etc)

•Support follow up with grantees

•Prepare and send donor acknowledgement letters.

•Maintain data management of gift and donor records.

•Support other donor communications and mailings (pledge reminders, special appeals, social media, e-newsletters, donor and volunteer calls, updating email donor list)

Global Impact Support

Another function of this practicum will be to support communications around demonstrating the global impact of the GDEI team.

•Review grant reports and summarize key impact measures.

•Support Movement Strengthening and Partnership administration.

•Support communications related to sharing global impact of Y-USA work

•Support other department events and projects, as necessary.

 OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Team Integration

•The Global Diversity Equity and Inclusion (GDEI) team has weekly team meetings and there will be many opportunities for the intern to collaborate with other team members as well as to connect, learn from and network with team members across the national organization.

•We are committed to being flexible in allowing the intern to explore their interests and provide opportunities for them to strengthen skills that they are interested in learning more about.

Possible Practicum Focus

While supporting the projects listed above is priority, Y-USA is committed to tailoring the internship experience to the interests and needs of the intern. Some key competencies that interns can gain from the internship (available, depending on intern interests are fundraising and donor stewardship, grant management, communications, grant management, international relations/development, antiracism, newcomer/immigrant inclusion, and more.)
