Aquatic Rehabilitation Specialist

This position supports the work of the West Morris Area YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strenghtening community throuh youth deveopment, healthy living and social responsibility.

The Aquatic Rehabilitation Specialist at the West Morris Area YMCA will conduct safe, fun, dynamic and effective water fitness classes for all individuals based on YMCA Standards & Guidelines.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in related field.
• Current CPR/AED certifications.
• Must have an Aquatic Therapy Rehab Institute certification.
• Excellent customer service and communications skills.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

• Conduct initial client assessments.
• Develop treatment plans based on their individual needs and goals.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, and modalities, to improve clients' mobility, strength, and pain management.
• Continuously assess and document client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records, including treatment notes and progress reports, in compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of therapy equipment and tools.
• Collaborate with other staff, to provide comprehensive client care.
• Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards, as well as YMCA policies and procedures.
• Safety: Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients and staff, including adherence to infection control measures.
