The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking a mission-driven, innovative, and strategic leader to serve as the Executive Director of Youth Achievement Services. This executive-level position is responsible for one of the Association’s largest and most impactful program portfolios, encompassing:

55 School-Age Child Care sites across four school districts (fee-based and grant-funded)
11 Day Camp sites
Teen Programs:
Youth & Government
Teen Leadership programs (i.e., Achievers, with plans for future expansion)
Reach & Rise mentoring program


Reporting to the District Executive Director, this leader will set the vision, strategy, and daily execution of Youth Achievement Services, ensuring programs are safe, high-quality, and accessible for all families. With oversight of a $6M+ budget and a dedicated team of senior program staff, the Executive Director will champion operational excellence, cultivate innovation in program delivery, and expand the Y’s impact across our large metropolitan service area.

This role is both strategic and hands-on. The Executive Director will be responsible for shaping comprehensive youth development initiatives that support the academic, social, and personal growth of thousands of children and teens each year. Success in this role requires building strong partnerships with school districts, government agencies, and community organizations; driving financial sustainability through annual fundraising, grant procurement, and donor cultivation; and maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and safety across all program sites.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, high-capacity leader who can balance the complex operational management of a large multi-site portfolio with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead staff teams. They will be a visible and engaged community leader, advocating for equitable access to youth services while ensuring the YMCA remains a trusted partner and provider of choice for all.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of senior management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or youth-serving organization, with demonstrated success managing a multi-site operation and a budget of $3M+.
  • Proven ability to develop high-quality programs, lead diverse teams, and cultivate strong community partnerships.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, fundraising (including campaigns and grants), and resource development.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills across diverse communities.
  • Ability to represent the YMCA with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to its mission.

Youth Development Leader

  • Design and oversee a comprehensive suite of programs for children and teens, including after-school, day camps, mentoring, and leadership programs with a genuine desire to always be growing.
  • Ensure safe, engaging, and educational environments that foster growth, leadership, and community involvement.
  • Partner with schools to align YMCA programs with educational goals and support seamless school-to-after-school transitions.
  • Establish and monitor program quality standards, staff training, and participant satisfaction.
  • Innovate programming to reflect trends in youth development such as technology integration, STEAM, environmental education, and expanded leadership opportunities.
     

Community Collaboration Architect

  • Build and sustain partnerships with school districts, local governments, and community-based organizations to expand program reach.
  • Conduct regular community needs assessments to ensure programs remain relevant and equitable.
  • Represent the YMCA in advocacy efforts, community forums, and public events to elevate youth development priorities.
  • Strengthen relationships with donors, funders, and volunteers to support program growth and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with YMCA branches and departments to integrate youth programming across the Association.
     

Operational & Financial Stewardship Guardian

  • Lead fiscal management of a $6M+ operating budget, ensuring resources align with strategic priorities and compliance standards.
  • Direct fundraising efforts, including the Annual Campaign, grants, and donor cultivation.
  • Drive operational efficiency by streamlining processes, leveraging technology, and ensuring compliance with legal and YMCA standards.
  • Oversee staff development, including recruitment, supervision, training, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement among staff.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates.
 
The yearly salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience.
