The Content Specialist leads the development and execution of high-quality, mission-driven visual and digital content that elevates the YMCA brand, drives membership and program participation, and strengthens community engagement. This role manages all aspects of creative production—from graphic design and videography to content organization—ensuring the Y is consistently and accurately represented across digital channels, social media, events, signage, and branch communications, all in support of the organization’s key priorities and goals.

  • 2–4+ years of experience in content creation, including photography, videography, graphic design, journalism, digital storytelling.
  • Proven ability to identify compelling stories and translate them into engaging content across multiple formats (social, print, video, signage).
  • Skilled in editing, repurposing, and adapting content to meet different audience and platform needs.
  • Proficiency in creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent.
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to balance multiple projects with deadlines.
  • Relentless attention to brand standards, ensuring all materials are consistent, professional, and on-message.
  • Experience with nonprofit, community-focused, or membership-based organizations is a plus.

Content Production: Lead the development of high-quality graphics, videos, photos, and digital assets that bring campaigns to life. Ensure all content reflects strategic priorities and elevates the YMCA’s brand presence.
Content Management: Own and maintain a centralized, well-organized content library that supports consistency and efficient access for branches and departments across the association.
Brand Stewardship: Oversee brand auditing and compliance efforts, ensuring content aligns with YMCA brand standards and messaging, and maintains consistency across social, print, and digital channels.
Performance & Optimization: Collaborate with teams across the Y to execute campaigns and use content performance metrics to improve reach, engagement and conversation across multiple channels. 
Collaboration & Project Management: Manage the marketing request workflow, prioritize incoming needs, and coordinate projects from concept through delivery — ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes that support organizational goals.
Support Digital Updates: Ensure the YMCA’s website and mobile app remain up-to-date by coordinating timely content updates and aligning digital messaging with current campaigns and creative direction.
